Zinsolar is registered as an Installation Contractor under SEB and for Solar PV Installation under MUT.
What services does Zinsolar Engineering Sdn Bhd provide?
We provide turnkey Solar PV EPCC — engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning — for residential, commercial, industrial and Large-Scale Solar projects. That covers on-grid systems under NEM Sarawak, hybrid systems with battery storage, off-grid systems, solar street lighting, and ongoing operations and maintenance.
How much does installing a solar PV system cost?
There is no single figure, because the right system size depends on your roof area, roof condition, and how much electricity you actually use during daylight hours. What we can do quickly is give you a written estimate: send us your most recent SESCO bill and a photo of your roof, and we will size a system, state the subsidy band you qualify for, and give you a number. No obligation.
Will my roof leak after solar panel installation?
It should not, and if it does that is an installation fault, not a normal outcome. Mounting is done with the correct rail and flashing system for your roof type, penetrations are sealed, and the roof is inspected before and after. If your roof is already at the end of its life we will tell you before we quote — installing over a roof that needs replacing is a false economy for both of us.
Does the solar PV system come with a warranty?
Yes. Panels and inverters carry their manufacturer warranties — typically a long performance warranty on panels and a separate product warranty on inverters — and our workmanship is warranted separately. Every system we commission also includes twelve months of free scheduled service and maintenance. Exact terms are stated in your contract before you sign, not after.
How long does a solar installation take?
The physical installation on a typical landed home is usually a matter of days. The longer part is the paperwork: SEB application, approval, meter change and commissioning all sit outside our direct control. We give you a realistic timeline at quotation stage covering both, and we tell you which milestones depend on SEB rather than on us.
What is NEM, and how does it work?
NEM stands for Net Energy Metering. Under NEM Sarawak, you install a rooftop PV system, it is connected to SEB's distribution grid, and 100% of the energy it produces is exported back to SEB. The exported energy then offsets your electricity bill at a 1:1 tariff rate — one kilowatt-hour exported cancels one kilowatt-hour consumed.
What is a hybrid solar PV system?
A hybrid system adds battery storage between your panels and your loads. Surplus daytime generation charges the battery instead of being wasted, and the battery discharges in the evening or during a grid outage. It costs more than a plain grid-tied system, so it makes sense when you have frequent outages or a load profile that peaks after dark.
How can I get a consultation or quotation?
Send us your latest SESCO bill and a photo of your roof — through the contact form on this site or straight to WhatsApp. That is normally enough for us to size a system and estimate the subsidy band. If the project is commercial or industrial we will arrange a site visit before quoting.
Is Zinsolar registered and certified?
Yes. Zinsolar is registered as an Installation Contractor under Sarawak Energy Berhad, and for Solar PV Installation under MUT. Registration matters more than it sounds — an unregistered installer cannot legitimately complete a NEM connection, which puts both your subsidy and your grid approval at risk.
